First Star, Inc. is a First Star was founded in 1999 as a national 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to improving life for child victims of abuse and neglect. First Star balances education, policy and research with public awareness to heighten visibility and to deepen knowledge about the plight of society's most vulnerable children – those who are abused and neglected. Children cannot advocate for themselves, so the grown-ups must see that they are heard.
Since its primary objective is to communicate, First Star came to WSI for help in reorganizing its voluminous content and presenting it in an engaging and logical way. The library presents critical materials and resources of value to child advocates, protective services and educators who deal with the foster system, and the abuse and neglect that place children in that environment.
The organization also relied on WSI to implement an eCommerce mechanism to accept donations that keep the organizations many activities funded.
Kylea was transitioning away from infomercial marketing with a more targeted approach with internet marketing. With an in-depth needs assessment & competitive analysis it was determined that a new site with a content management system, search engine optimization, custom design, ecommerce and advanced lead generation strategies were needed to compete in this competitive and sometimes shady world of nutritional supplements.
We migrated 150 pages of content and added more than 100 pages of search engine articles to cover many topics supplement consumers were looking for. We created a custom DNN quiz module that functions as a great lead capture mechanism for email follow up. In addition we drove traffic to the quiz with social media, paid search and banner advertising.
We also integrated an ecommerce platform with their current inventory and CRM systems. Follow up email series were designed and deployed with intelligent sequence to help conversion rates and up selling opportunities.
