Background

Langley Wellington is one of the fastest growing firms in the region, based on strong client relationships and a reputation for excellence.  In September 2011 they converted to a Limited Liability Partnership and opened a new office in Cheltenham.  They decided that with the changes there was a need to promote their new brand online and grow their client base in the area of commercial and residential property and decided that social media was the way to do it.
Whilst they had a website and some employees had personal profiles on LinkedIn, there was no cohesion between the two and no method in place to engage with their customers or get advice and information out to them.

Solution

Having discussed the types of information that Langley wellington wanted to get out to their customers, it was agreed that a co-ordinated approach using a blog, Twitter, Facebook and Company LinkedIn page would be used.  Social Media accounts were set up and branded consistently across the board.  The Company LinkedIn page, not only had their services listed but now also incorporated the previously inconsistent personal profiles of employees.
A content plan of articles giving people information about the company and what it does, in addition to useful informative articles in the area of residential and commercial property was drawn up and timescales agreed for posting to the blog and cross pollinating to the other social media.

Results

Langley Wellington now have regular blog posts and updates on all their social media and are seeing increased levels of engagement from their readers.  They are becoming known as a source of information in the areas of Commercial and Residential property.
While still very early on in their plan they have seen increased levels of traffic to their website that can be proved to be a direct result of their blog and Twitter activities.  In addition those people visiting the site as a result of those activities are staying for much longer than any other traffic source.  Numbers of people viewing the Langley Wellington services on LinkedIn have increased and the number of followers across all social media continues to improve as does customer engagement.

Social media is of course, a marathon and it will take time for these increased engagement levels to result in increased sales.
