Through the ELMS (Enhancing Leadership & Management Skills) fund companies are able to access funding to enhance their Leadership & Management skills.
This funding can be accessed through various schemes run by the Welsh Assembly Government.
The Workforce Development Programme
This scheme allows employers with 10 or more employees to apply for 50% funding towards the cost of Leadership & management training. This scheme involves employers receiving support from a Human Resource Development adviser who helps them with the application for the scheme and in drawing up a learning plan detailing the training that they would like to do. It is this training that is then funded at a rate of 50%.
Business Training Support Direct Application
This scheme is similar to the Workforce Development Programme. This scheme is aimed at companies with less than 10 employees and those that are recognised under the Investors In People standard. Under this scheme the company does not receive the support of a Human Resource Development adviser. They instead apply directly to the Welsh Assembly government with the details of the training that they are looking to complete and the benefits of that training. Under the scheme the employer can access 50% funding within the limits below;
* Up to £500 towards the cost of general training.
* Up to £2,000 towards the cost of Leadership & Management training
